When You Reach Your Dream

A HUMBLE BEGINNING

There was once a little girl named Ynes who lived in a remote village with her parents and siblings.

They lived a simple life away from the busy city life out there. Her parents were simple farmers who grew various types of fruits and vegetables in their small land.

Ynes is the third among 6 siblings but despite being in the middle, she was a sweet and responsible daughter to her parents.

She was the smartest and most diligent among all her other siblings. At such a young age of 12, she already knew the hardships of life.

Sometimes she would go out with her peers and sell some home-made brooms that their parents also made out of one of their spare time.

Ynez and her friends would usually walk to town carrying their home-made brooms on their backs.

At the end of each day, they would again walk back home with no more brooms to carry back home if they were lucky selling everything for the day.

Her parents knew Ynez wasn’t supposed to be doing those things because she was still so young.

She should be enjoying her youth and be going to school just like other normal kids.

But they were just so poor to afford all the necessities needed for education. They could hardly make ends meet.

THE BEGINNING OF A LIFE EXPEDITION

As Ynez grew older, she began to see life in a different way. She began to have dreams of her own. She hoped of having a comfortable life someday.

By the time she turned 16, she decided to try out her luck somewhere else away from their village. She went to see her rich aunt in the city.

After a few minutes of conversation and with her aunt, she finally found the courage to speak up. She begged her aunt if she could become one of her household helps.

After much deliberation, her aunt finally decided to take her in. Ynez became an all-around household in her aunt’s place.

She took care of everything from taking care of her aunt’s kids, cooking, cleaning the house, and doing the laundry.

THE HARDSHIPS OF LIFE

Ynez had such a hard life as a young girl. She wasn’t able to enjoy the perks of childhood and teenage years because she had to work in order to live.

Despite all the hardships, Ynez never gave up. She stayed with her aunt until she became older and more mature.

A LIFETIME COMPANY

One day, Ynez met the person she would spend the rest of her life with. He was the young and handsome new gardener of her aunt.

Together they shared their dreams of wanting to have a better life in the future and worked as hard as they can every day.

Then they decided to get married with the blessing of their parents and Ynez’s aunt.

Her aunt was kind enough to have allowed them to still stay in her house after getting married.

They lived in her aunt’s basement and still continued serving her until they finally had a child.

Ynez still continued her job as an all-around household help, often carrying her baby on her back while she worked while her husband found another job as an encyclopedia salesman.

A PAINFUL GOODBYE

One day they finally decided to leave her aunt’s place in search for other opportunities in life.

As painful as it was for them to be leaving her aunt, they had to leave and move on with their life for a brighter future.

Then, as if a miracle has hit them; Ynez’s aunt offered to give her a piece of land where they could begin their new life as a family.

It was given for them as a reward for all the years of hard work and patience in serving her and her family.

Tears rolled down Ynez’s eyes when the day finally came that they were leaving her aunt. She was very thankful for all the help and chances her aunt has given her.

A NEW BEGINNING

Until now, Ynez and her family still live on that piece of land her aunt gave her. She is now old but she can still remember the kindness and generosity her wonderful aunt has showed her.

Ynez has gone a long way from the small girl who once dreamed of a comfortable life to the old woman who has a lot of wisdom to share now.

After leaving her aunt’s place, Ynez and her husband worked hard to achieve a much comfortable state of life.

She ventured into the business of direct selling while her husband ventured into the corporate world.

When her husband already had a steady income and a good position at work, Ynez finally decided to stay at home and take care of her family’s needs.

HAPPY AND CONTENTED

She wasn’t able to finish school but she says that she regrets nothing in her life.

She is now living a much comfortable life compared to her life before and she couldn’t wish for anything more.

They might not be rich, powerful, and famous but they are happy.

They were able to provide a good education for their children and now they are contented grandparents to their grandchildren.

THE MORAL OF THE STORY

So what is the moral of the story? If you look at it, the characters in the story are not famous, they’re not rich either and they’re definitely not powerful.

Most life stories which end up in popular magazines, TV shows or blogs are the ones that usually end with the characters becoming successful people at the top of their chosen careers.

But this story is different. It is also real, it happened in real life but the only difference with other stories is that this is a story of average people.

This story depicts the life of people who, despite not being at the top of their game are happy and contented.

Success and happiness doesn’t always come in numbers or quantity.

It’s not how much money you have in the bank, how many cars you drive, how many houses you own and how famous or powerful you are.

Ynez and her husband represent the average person who reaches his/her dream and not wanting for more.

She dreamed of a comfortable life and now she has it. She has a family that loves her, a house to live in, grand children to pass on her wisdom to, and a healthy mind and body despite her old age.

How To Beat Hopelessness

WHAT IS DESPAIR?

Have you ever been in a state where you felt hopeless and there’s nothing you could do about it? Was there ever a time when you have given up hoping for something?

This is what DESPAIR means; it is a state of hopelessness. A situation where you cannot see any light at all, it’s as if you are covered in darkness and you just couldn’t get out.

No one ever wants to be in that kind of situation; but sometimes life automatically gives it to you to test your faith. It tests your ability to keep on fighting and helps you become the strongest person you could ever be.

A HOPELESS CASE

I remember a friend of mine whose father just died of cancer. I saw how painful it was for her to see her father slowly dying from his illness.

I felt her anguish and pain of knowing that her father could go anytime. She wanted so much to hope that a miracle would happen and he would eventually get better.

But circumstances didn’t want to give her that chance. Her father’s situation got worse every day and the doctors already told her he could die anytime.

Imagine being in that kind of situation. Would you hold on to your hope or would you painfully accept that there’s no more hope left?

What do you think would a person feel if that was the case? She was hopeless. She could only watch in agony and desperation as her father slowly succumbed to his illness.

She cried her heart out on the day her father passed away. She told him he was so unfair to be leaving them so soon.

Situations such as this could be emotionally draining. They take the best out of you and give you a feeling of DESPAIR.

HOW FAITH HEALS

DESPAIR, this is exactly the atmosphere in a Bible verse where Jesus healed in response to people’s faith.

40 Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying.

As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years,[a] but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.

45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.

When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.”

46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”

47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

49 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”

50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”

51 When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother. 52 Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.”

53 They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!” 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.1

There were two situations here where faith has proven that even in the most desperate times there will always be a spark of hope that can lift you from your DESPAIR.

A DESPERATE MOVE

The woman who has been sick of bleeding for 12 long years could have felt hopeless and could have given up on her life after seeing a lot of doctors or healers, but her faith healed her.

Her strong faith in God and her belief that He is the only one who can heal her freed her from her illness.

GOD IS WITH YOU

It may not literally appeal to you but take for instance your situation right now. Are you feeling hopeless about something or someone? Have you lost all hope of ever solving your problem?

I tell you, in your misery right now God is with you. He is there beside you waiting for you to call on Him. Take time to open your heart and lift it all up to Him.

He is crying with you, He is bleeding with you. Put your faith in Him and take comfort in His presence. When you lift everything up to Him, you will feel His divine presence.

The feeling is unexplainable; it can make you cry with emotions of joy, surrender, calm and hope.

When you feel His presence within your heart you will be filled with all these mixed emotions.

A HOPEFUL SOUL

Jairus is another example of a person who never lost his ability to hope. Yes, he was desperate to have his daughter healed; that desperation led Him to Jesus.

His state of anguish proved his strong faith in God and all His wonders. His faith gave back his daughter’s life.

Rising from the dead may not happen in your whole lifetime but if you take this message as a representation of faith, it can change your life a whole lot.

Look at that man who already lost his daughter to death, he still had the ability to find that little hope in him and make his faith more alive.

He did not question Jesus why He allowed his daughter to die. He only stood there and let Jesus do His work.

CELEBRATE! YOU ARE ALIVE!

If you entrust your whole life to Him, He will give you the miracle you need. You may not see it literally or in an instant but God has always been doing miracles for you.

Waking up in the morning is already a miracle in itself. Celebrate because you are alive and you have another day to live your life to the fullest.

Don’t dwell in regrets, anger and desolation. Thank God for another day and live it. Live it with hope and love towards yourself and others.

Live one day at a time and do not worry about the future because He has everything planned for you even before you were born.

You may be down right now, you may be having difficulties and problems but they will all pass; just like how the wind passes by you every second of your life.

YOUR SUFFERING WILL END

Every suffering has an ending. Now might not be the time for yours but it will definitely end soon. Never lose the ability to HOPE. It is the edge of Jesus’ cloak; if you hold on to it know that you will be healed.

You will be healed from your illness, from your heartache, from your shattered soul.

Fight your feeling of DESPAIR now. Take comfort in your HOPE and FAITH in Christ.

I Am Here

What must I do when I am down?

Am I to blame for what I feel?

I cannot shout, I cannot speak

How do I deal with this sadness?

I am alone with all my struggles

I feel like I’m in a dark place

A place where even myself, I can’t find

There seems to be no hint of light.

A tiny spark is all I need

To help me get through another day

I need some light to guide my way

I need something to hold on to

I am sad, alone, lowly, lonely

No one from out there seems to hear me

Is there someone who could save me?

I need to know, is somebody there?

I break down and weep with tears of sorrow

I kneel, with my face covered in tears

Then suddenly, a light shines down on me

It is bright, calming, comforting

I feel strange, lighter, peaceful

I feel a warm, serene embrace

I look and see my Father’s eyes

Tame, pure, a mirror of hope and love.

He holds my hand, helps me stand up

He is the light showing me out of the dark

His light shines brightly amidst it all

He tells me not to fear, hesitate

I put my trust and faith in Him

He gently whispers His words,

“My child, I was with you in the dark

Into the light I will lead you now...

When you felt so alone and lonely

I was there beside you silently

When you cried with pain and anguish

My heart was bleeding, my tears were thorns

When you were covered in darkness

I was there lighting your heart and soul

I have been with you and will always be

Even in the lightest of day.

Go on now, do not be afraid

I will see you through, all your life

I will be there when you fall down

Throughout the end, I will be with you.

When time will come that you should tire

When your body releases your tired, weary soul

Fear not, for I will be there

To welcome you into My Kingdom.”
